I hear voices

Calling out my name

Desperate cries echoing from the top of a desolate moor

Where the deepest tarn lies

Hollowed out bowl of water

Surrounded by ruins of drooling drystone wall

Down on the deepest bottom of a tarn

I see a chapel that’d been burnt down

Roots like human hands

Drag me down

Screaming in horror I will drown

In this godforsaken devil’s tarn

Fingers crossed

I walked along a narrow path

By the waterside

Gazing at the surface

Amazed by last ray of light

Ashen faces from below

Watching me, screaming out my name

Is this a dream?

Or am I going insane?
