The rest of my life is a chance to get even

With past thoughts and actions

Outrageous frustrations

Now I’m gone

Coming back

To where I was before all that

A lifetime of worry in one single moment

Everything’s ending!

Everyone’s older!

Who will protect me from all of my worry?

My daydreams are nightmares

Visions of onslaughts

Who can I trust to defend me from all of my thoughts?

Fanciful dancer, hobbled by standards

Nobody knows what you’re even after

But now everybody’s coming after you

Everybody wants to talk to you

And yet, the auspicious hint that nothing is wasted

And yet, the stolen glances I affectionately catch

(In spite of it all, I sometimes drop the ball)

Relentless assailant, mysterious machine

You vibrant child!
