I tried life underground

But the only ones around

Were the ones who were dead and buried

There was no light, no sound

No beauty to be found

And so I started digging though I was weary

Towards the sun

With dirt in my eyes

I shed my disguise

I thank the worms for the good times

But I’m headed towards the sun

Don’t get me wrong, I know the darkness seems real

I know sometimes it’s medicine to feel

After a while if I stay

I start to decay

So I take what it gave and start growing
