It was just the other day

While sitting with my morning tea

Looking through the windows early haze

A lone melody

Came flitting floating down on me

I caught it like a leaf in autumn’s breeze

While ambling down the street

Something came on to my empty mind

The words they did appear

Upon my notebook written clear
