As the night’s light lit the stony gravel on the road ahead

I sit and write with hindsight how my life’s been led

Back to fighting feeling lonely in that little shed

Cold kept slipping through that window pane

I’d lie in bed, for a while

Persuaded the current time to undermine creation

Broke and can’t afford a habit since the weed inflation

That’s what forced me to prepare with pre-re-meditation

Cause there were times that I thought I wouldn’t make it

Days when the doctor said I’d die in a year

And there were months where I felt I couldn’t take it

When I was fighting what had tied me to fear

Was sticking with it keeping moving through the pits when I pivot

I’d live it sitting pissing rain as the pity persisted with hate

But nothing changed 'til I picked up my mind state

I muddled through the puzzle like mindscapes, so keep striving

Put my mates through a sieve

Sifted out the acquaintances

Drowned all the negativity and took a break from this

Quit writing for a while stopped rhyming

Occasionally craving up and down like my cadences

Then I came out my cave saw the sun shining

In a daze nearly thought that I was done smiling

And still looking for something I wasn’t finding

Like times would hardly speak and search my

Carpet seeking one line in

Pretty grateful I climbed out of that hole

Trying to keep from slipping in that pit’s my primary goal

Left to right seeking uppers and getting 'em wanting downers

Running round rings to score like playing rounders

So when my head’s fucked I try and keep my chin to the sky
