Well I’m near the city on the south side at the shore

And the folks around here think I’m not just right

What, with sleeping in the morning when they’re half way through the day

Playing music half way through the night

And the postman thinks I’m crazy because I don’t pick up my mail

Cause I know it’s gonna be the same old story

Final notices and traffic tickets lying in the corner

The words are different, but I still know what they mean

So I think I’ll sweep the dust off

I might even cut the grass

And I’ll put away my Springsteen and Tom Waits

Put a notice in the paper, and if they give me what I’m asking

Fill the car, don’t forget to close the gate
