it’s not worth the toxic air i breath

this noxious mix of raw debris

asbestos and carcinogens

molecules of oxygen

these old habits they die hard

like rasputin and captain picard

our sun is just somebody’s star

mapped out and followed on nautical charts

there’s a million other worlds out there

desperate alien girls out there

space invaders asteroids

and i’m stuck on this rock breathing this poison

it’s not worth anything at all

these words they come easily

these participles, similes

past imperfect, present tense

waiting, hating with bated breath

and compliments are cheap as dirt

for an extrasensory introvert
