Falling away

Down into the darkest place I know

Reeling away from the edge

Facing my way down

I close my eyes

Take another breath and just climb

Take every single thorn in my sight

And move on, and on, and on

Face myself or erase myself in the fall

When it’s your time, what will they say?

Did you live or die on your last day?

Taken away

Far from every single thing I knew

Forcing myself to forget

Everything below me

And maybe I am sick and I’m tired

But I cannot give up on this life

Because the heart that beats in my chest

Will go on, and on, and on

Am I alone?

Or does it just feel vacant as it is?
