I was born with dandelion eyes

Learned to dance by watching butterflies

Comb my hair in a honeysuckle wind

Be not contained by any skin that I’m bound in

Like a mushroom blooms where a fell tree lie

In this sacred spot so too do I

Underneath

This old growth

A brand new seed

Takes its oath

To be a flowerhead

Woo!

I’ll become a wilderness I recognize

And stand faded like a worn-out welcome sign

pollinators plant a seed inside

I ain’t afraid, ain’t gonna hide

Now I don’t miss that old chrysalis

In fact, I feel like it never fit
