Ruususen laulla, prinssiä vailla

Unta mä elämästä nään

En tahtois nukkuu, vaan suudelmiin hukkuu

Ikiuneen ilman häntä jään

Heräsin tänään hellään suudelmaan

Useinhan minä suukkosia saan

Mutta tämä oli kuitenkin toista kuin muut

Veri kulki kuohuen ja virkosivat luut

Et koskaan arvaa kenet siinä näin!

Prinssini uljas hän seisoi edessäin

Sadan vuoden unen hän suuteli pois

Niin kuin niitä vuosia ollutkaan ei ois

Nukuitko hyvin?

Kysyi hymyillen

Satayksi vuotta ja liioittele en

Väsymyksen syitä hän ei kysellyt

Minä sanoin: prinssi, suutele mua nyt!

Et koskaan arvaa…

Minä voin olla vaikka tuhat vee

Mutta sittenkään sitä virhettä en tee
