Da tre notti non riposo

resto ad assoltare:

la vipera che soffia,

soffia presso l’acqua.

Ho composto un canto nuovo,

vieni ad ascoltare

della sposa che al banchetto

mai pi ritorno fece.

C’era un invitato in pi che la rimirava:

Alla mia gente vorrei mostrare

il tuo abito da sposa.

Lei ingenua lo segui`

cerca di tornare,

fino a notte attesa,

lei non ritorn.

Se ne andava in piena notte

da solo un suonatore,

ma davanti gli si par

il signore sconosciuto:

Forse tu cerchi la sposa

che and perduta,

se hai cuore di seguirmi

da lei ti condurr.

E una barca lo port

lungo un’acqua scura,

ritrov la sposa

e aveva vesti d’oro.

Il mio anello ti dar,

portale al mio uomo,

qui non soffro pi n male n desiderio.

Il suonatore si gir,

fece un solo passo

poi gridare ia senti`

nell 'acqua che la soffocava,
