Abased at the base of the willow as it’s boughs

and the waves seek to meet at the mouth of the bay.

Though Time was found undressed and unwound at my side on the ground,

she cried that she’d never want it any other way.

Breathe deep.

Feed sleep.

Never dreamed that I’d ever see the seams between where we are,

where we’ve been and where we’re gonna go,

But here without fear all I hear the baited breath of the sea

as all the stories of our lives weep softly down the boughs of the willow.

Pleased to see, pleased to be here to leave you free of loss,

to find you when you’re lost, to be that albatross that clings to you in your

sleep.

My love, I’ve brought you tulips tonight.

They slip from my fingers as sparks alight.

And in the moment that they fall as all things must,

Time and her Passage gently stall in the growing dusk.

With the wind held enthrall while every second seems to crawl,

the breeze speaks to me in a soft southern drawl:

«All weary hearts take flight tonight,

Lost in each other for forever in the shallow ocean’s light.

Fly away.

Fly away.»
