The Ocean - Alliteration

The nightmares never seem to let me sleep

They’re always clawing away at my feet

Slowly killing me

But you watch me go smiling

I can’t breathe with the weight of the ocean on my chest

The rope around my ankle keeps pulling me under

Cut me loose, untie this noose

Adrift at sea, no air to breathe

Drowning’s slow, this never ends

Hang me instead, it’s a quicker death

I know you, do you know me?

I’m cracking in half slowly

The ocean grabs my ankles and pulls me underneath

Sucks the air out of my lungs

Like the first time you spoke to me

These waves come crashing down around me

My mind is racing

Pushing, pulling, never ceasing
