Вот он, пароходишко бумажный,

Ходит он от берега ко дну

В луже, там, где дом многоэтажный,

Где она пройдёт перешагнув.

Флагом всполохнёт ей или дымом,

И гудит-дудит во все гудки,

А она опять нарочно мимо,

Прячется в кудряшки завитки.

Рвётся, будто пёс, порвав ошейник,

Голос осмелевший от темна,

Полночь, и мы терпим с ним крушенье

В луже, где распрыгалась она.

К трапу мне, и прямо на восходе

Прочь уплыть в далёкую страну

Надо бы, да только пароходик

Ходит вдаль от берега ко дну.

А потом, когда просохнут лужи,

И наступит зной, того гляди,

Станет он сухим листком ненужным

И на первом ветре улетит.

Близко ли, далёко ли, неважно,

Где никто его не узнаёт,

Белый пароходишко бумажный

Вдоль по борту с именем её.
