J’avais deux écus

Le premier je l’ai bu

Je ne l’ai donc plus

Le second brillait si fort dans la lumière

Que j’en ai fait don à la claire rivière

Mais pour moi le monde est beau

Dans les arbres là-haut

Chantent les oiseaux

So I don't have it anymore

The second shone so bright in the light

That I donated to the clear river

But to me the world is beautiful

In the trees up there

The birds sing
