How many springs did I run through the meadow

Amazed by all the colors in the field

Handfuls of flowers and I couldn’t wait to pick 'em

Mama look the daffodils are here

A few days of glory and then they were gone

It always made me sad to watch them die

(But it) helped me to learn they were never mine anyway

And part of life is leaving it behind

How many springs has it been since that morning

We said goodbye to mama on this hill

Just like today, the wind seemed to lift us

Connecting us to destiny fulfilled

I still have the questions

I still cry the tears

I still see the beauty in these flowers

But now I leave them here

I count every day as a gift that I’m given

To be with all the flowers on the hill

Don’t have to look very hard to get livin'

In gratitude for every hush and thrill
