So when people joke and smile

I’ll go the extra mile

Just to get the last laugh

Now I’m touring overseas

How many times, did I write out these lines

Just to keep myself going convince myself I was fine

Tried to gift them a vision but way too many were blind

Saw the life they were living and knew that couldn’t be mine

Knew I was destined for more than breaking down on that floor

Your kindness taken for weakness will shake you down to your core

Move your eyes to the heavens and wonder what was it for

That’s when I looked to the messages I was spreading before

Cause I still do this for the kids who sit a bit outside the mix

The ones who cope through humor just to fit in for a bit

The ones who come to shows and get too nervous for a pic

Till we talk and I’m reminded why I truly live for this

The finish line is death and me I’d really like to live
