Langt inn i mellom hoye fjell og dype daler

Gjennom norske skoger og morke huler

Bak her en drom for over lysen aar siden

Til hordaland kom pesta og bragte dod og pine

Thekseskogen ble plantet rotter for et rike som skulle komme

Hedningenes land vikingland

Svarte sjelers land vikingland

Mens telemark fosser og bekker enda renner i strie strommer som

Evigheten selv

En nyt tid kom hoor tordenbrakene dundret og jorden skalv

Som naar trollene kriger om hvem som skal herske in jotunheimen

En ny tid kom… Hoor vinteren blaaser og pisker

Det er ikke ly aa finne for den ensomme

Vandrer som maatte soke fred in nordland

Her oppe paa fjellet ved midnattsilden kan man enda se De komme som ville dyr ut av skogsmorket

Far in between high mountains and deep valleys

Through Norwegian forests and dark caves

Behind here a dream about over the light years ago

To hordaland came the plague and brought death and torment

The thx forest was planted rats for a kingdom to come

The land of the heathen Viking land

Land of black souls viking land

While telemark waterfalls and streams still flow in torrents

Eternity itself

A new time came when the thunderclap thundered and the earth shook

Like when the trolls fight over who should rule in the jotunheimen

A new time has come… Hoor winter blows and whips

There is no shelter to be found for the lonely

Hiker who had to seek peace in the north

Up here on the mountain by the midnight herring you can still see you coming like wild animals out of the forest darkness
