Jag färdas genom natten

Genom dunkel dimma och dis

En dimma så tät att den bildar vatten

Som kylan sedan fryser till is

En dimhöljd färd, en becksvart resa

Genom nattens mörka skog

Såg granskogar täta, lövskogar glesa

När jag mig genom natten tog

Jag närmar mig sjön, sa lugn och stilla

Medan nattens mörker gror

Här ska jag vara, här är det alltid vindstilla

Och lata mitt sinne få ro

Mörkret sänker sig stilla

En isande bris

Droppar faller från en sorgsen sky

Tar nu farväl av varann

I travel through the night

Through dark fog and mist

A fog so dense that it forms water

As the cold then freezes to ice

A fog-covered journey, a pitch-black journey

Through the dark forest of the night

Saw spruce forests dense, deciduous forests sparse

When I went through the night

I approach the lake, said calmly and quietly

While the darkness of the night grows

This is where I should be, here it is always windless

The darkness descends still

An icy breeze

Drops fall from a sad sky
