
Waylon Jennings (born Waylon Arnold Jennings on June 15, 1937, in the United States) was an influential American country music artist. Known for his deep voice and outlaw image, he began playing guitar at eight and worked as a DJ before launching his music career. In 1958, Buddy Holly helped him record his first tracks and brought him on tour as a bassist. Jennings narrowly avoided the 1959 plane crash that claimed Holly's life. Over his career, he released hits like "Luckenbach, Texas" and "Good Hearted Woman", shaping the outlaw country movement. His legacy remains pivotal in country music history.
