Walter Murphy is an American composer, keyboardist, arranger, pianist, songwriter, and music producer born in 1952. Over a career spanning more than five decades, Walter Murphy has composed music for numerous films and television shows, including "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", and "Looney Tunes". He is perhaps best known for his disco adaptation of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, titled "A Fifth of Beethoven", which became a major hit in the 1970s. Walter Murphy has made significant contributions to pop and R&B music, blending classical influences with contemporary styles.
