Walk the Moon is an American rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio, formed in 2008. The band's genre combines elements of pop and indie rock with new wave influences. Frontman Николас Петрикка assembled the band while attending Кеньон College. In 2010, the band released their debut album I Want! I Want! and the single "Anna Sun" brought them popularity on alternative radio. The band's name is inspired by the song "Walking on the Moon" by The Police . Walk the Moon contributed to the development of indie rock, adding vibrant and danceable elements to the genre.
