Vivian Campbell is an Irish guitarist and songwriter, born in 1962. He is best known as a member of the band Def Leppard , which he joined in April 1992. Prior to this, he played in bands such as the Irish rock band Sweet Savage , as well as Dio , Trinity , Whitesnake , Riverdogs , Shadow King , and Thin Lizzy . His contributions to rock music include his virtuoso guitar skills and participation in the creation of many hits that have become classics of the genre.
