
Виктор Цой (1962–1990) was a Soviet rock musician, poet, and actor of Korean-Russian descent from the USSR. He was the founder and leader of the iconic rock band «Кино» , originally called «Гарин и Гиперболоиды» . Prior to that, he was a member of the bands «Палата № 6» and «Автоматические удовлетворители» . Цой wrote lyrics and performed songs, becoming a symbol of the Perestroika era. The band's hits, such as «Группа крови» and «Звезда по имени Солнце» remain popular today. Виктор Цой had a huge influence on the development of Russian rock, becoming its icon.
