The band was formed by Anton Slepakov, former frontman of the Dnipropetrovsk band «И друг мой грузовик» and guitarist Valentin Panyuta, previously known for his work with the Kharkiv band «Lюк» Stanislav Ivaschenko of the band DOK joined in 2014. The band operates in the local indie genre and is known for its experimental lyrics and sound. вагоновожатые has made a significant contribution to the development of the Ukrainian independent music scene, combining elements of rock, electronica, and poetry.
