
Trini Lopez (full name Trinidad Lopez III ) is an American singer, guitarist, and actor, born May 15, 1937, in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in the Little Mexico neighborhood on Ashland Street. Trini Lopez is best known for his 1963 hit " If I Had a Hammer ," which became an international success. His style combined elements of pop and rock 'n' roll, which made him popular in the 1960s. Trini Lopez made a significant contribution to the popularization of Latin American influences in American pop music. He passed away on August 11, 2020.
