Tracey Thorn is an English singer and songwriter born in 1962. She is best known as a member of the duo Everything but the Girl , which was active from 1982 to 2000 and reunited in 2022. She previously performed in the group Marine Girls from 1980 to 1983. Since 2007, Tracey Thorn has been actively pursuing a solo career, releasing several albums, including "Out of the Woods" . She is also known as the author of books and essays. Her contributions to pop, electronic, and alternative music have made her a significant figure in British music culture.
