
The Stooges is an American rock band formed in 1967, fronted by Iggy Pop. Originating from the United States, their music is often categorized as garage rock, proto-punk, and glam rock. Early albums like "The Stooges" (1969) and "Fun House" (1970) were highly influential in shaping punk rock and alternative music, despite initially receiving mixed commercial success. The band disbanded in 1974 but reunited in 2003, continuing until 2016. In 2005, Rolling Stone ranked them 78th on their list of the greatest artists of all time.
