The group emerged from the remnants of the folk collective The Mugwumps, with members John Sebastian, Zal Yanovsky, Joseph Campbell Butler, and Steve Boone. Known for blending folk, rock, and pop, their hits include "Do You Believe in Magic" and "Summer in the City". In 2000, The Lovin' Spoonful was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, cementing their legacy as pioneers of the 1960s American rock scene.
