The Korea is a Russian metal band from St. Petersburg, formed in 2003. Initially, the band performed under the name Korea and played mathcore and alternative metal. In 2010, the band changed its name and musical direction, shifting to progressive metal and djent. The current lineup includes guitarist and founder Александра Кузнецова , guitarist Юрия Лампочкина , bassist Антона Акимова , drummer Дениса Буханцева , and vocalist Вячеслава Соколова . The Korea has made a significant contribution to the development of the progressive metal scene in Russia.
