
Tears For Fears are a British band formed in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith after the breakup of their first band, Graduate . The band began in the synthpop and new wave genres but soon expanded their sound, achieving commercial success. Their album "Songs from the Big Chair" (1985), became a worldwide hit, featuring such well-known tracks as "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" and "Shout" The band also received recognition for their album "The Seeds of Love" (1989). Tears For Fears made a significant contribution to the development of alternative rock and synthpop.
