
Tammi Terrell, born Thomasina Winifred Montgomery in 1945 in the United States, was an American R&B, soul, and pop singer. She gained fame as a star of Motown Records in the 1960s, particularly for her duets with Marvin Gaye. Her career began in her teenage years with recordings on Scepter/Wand Records, followed by nearly two years as part of the James Brown Revue, recording under James Brown's label Try Me. Her collaborations with Marvin Gaye, including hits like "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "You're All I Need to Get By", remain iconic. Tammi Terrell left an indelible mark on the R&B and soul genres before her untimely passing in 1970.
