
Talking Heads was an American rock band formed in 1975 in New York City. Known for their eclectic new wave style, they incorporated diverse influences into their music. The band, led by David Byrne, released several critically acclaimed albums, with their 1983 record "Speaking in Tongues" achieving the highest chart position on the Billboard 200. Their biggest single, "Burning Down the House", reached #9 on the charts. Talking Heads officially disbanded in 1991 but briefly reunited as The Heads in 1996. Their innovative approach to art-school punk and experimentalism left a lasting impact on the rock genre.
