Susana Baca is a prominent Peruvian singer, songwriter, and ethnomusicologist, born in 1944. She played a key role in the revival of Afro-Peruvian music, exploring and popularizing its traditions. Susana Baca has won three Latin Грэмми Awards, recognizing her contribution to global music culture. In 2011, she made history by becoming Peru's Minister of Culture, the second Afro-Peruvian to hold this position.
