Stanley Clarke is an American jazz bassist and composer, born in 1951 in Philadelphia, USA. A pioneer of the electric bass, he gained prominence as a founding member of the jazz fusion group Return to Forever, alongside Chick Corea. His solo career includes acclaimed albums like "School Days" and "Journey to Love". Clarke has won multiple Grammy Awards and has composed for film and television, including scores for "Boyz n the Hood" and "The Transporter". His innovative techniques and contributions have solidified his status as a key figure in jazz and fusion music.
