Soundgarden is an American rock band from Seattle, formed in 1984. The band played a grunge style that gained immense popularity in the 1990s. Soundgarden is considered one of the key bands of the "big four" of Seattle grunge, along with Pearl Jam , Nirvana , and Alice in Chains . After disbanding in 1997 due to creative differences, the band reunited in 2010, releasing the album King Animal in 2012. The band was led by vocalist Крис Корнелл , whose death in 2017 marked the end of Soundgarden . The band made significant contributions to the development of grunge and alternative rock.
