Soulfly is a groove metal band founded in 1997 by Max Cavalera, formerly of the legendary Sepultura . The band emerged after Cavalera's departure from Sepultura at the height of its popularity. Soulfly combines elements of thrash metal, groove metal, and world music, giving their sound a unique quality. Their most notable albums include "Soulfly" (1998) and "Primitive" (2000).
