Sodom is a German thrash metal band from Gelsenkirchen, founded in 1981. The band is considered one of the pioneers and classics of the German extreme metal scene, along with Kreator , Destruction , and Tankard , making up the "Big Four of thrash metal." Their unique style influenced numerous thrash, death, and black metal bands of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Sodom released landmark albums like "Agent Orange" and "Persecution Mania" , which became important milestones in the genre.
