Skafandr is a popular Russian band from St. Petersburg, founded in 1998 by Evgeny Rybnikov, Yuri Vitel, and Kirill Solovyov. The band plays a unique "metal-dub" style, combining elements of metal and dub. Until 2001, the band performed with vocalist Anna Stolyarova, but then focused exclusively on instrumental music. Skafandr is known for its powerful live performances and experimental approach to the genre. Their work has had a significant influence on the development of instrumental rock in Russia.
