
Sir John Barbirolli (born Джованни Баттиста Барбиролли ) was an Italian-born British conductor and cellist, born on 2 December 1899. He rose to prominence through his work with Hallé Orchestra , where he served as music director for over 25 years. Barbirolli also collaborated with orchestras such as New York Philharmonic and was renowned for his interpretations of works by Эдварда Элгара and Густава Малера . His contribution to world classical music was recognized with numerous awards, including a knighthood. Barbirolli left a significant legacy in classical music, inspiring generations of musicians.
