Sippie Wallace (née Beulah Thomas) was an American blues singer, pianist, and songwriter born in 1898 in the United States. She was nicknamed the "Texas Nightingale" for her performances in tent shows. From 1923 to 1927, she recorded over 40 songs for Okeh Records , many of which were written by her or her brothers, George and Hersal Thomas. Her accompanists included such legends as Луи Армстронг , Сидни Беше , and Кинг Оливер . Wallace was considered one of the finest blues vocalists of her time, alongside Ма Рейни and Бесси Смит . Her work had a significant influence on the development of blues and jazz.
