Screaming Trees was an American rock band formed in Ellensburg, Washington, in 1985. Known for their role in the grunge and alternative rock movements, the group consisted of members Mark Lanegan, Gary Lee Conner, Van Conner, and Mark Pickerel. Their breakthrough came with the album "Sweet Oblivion" (1992), which featured the hit single "Nearly Lost You". Signed to labels like Epic Records, they gained critical acclaim but never achieved the commercial success of their Seattle contemporaries. Despite disbanding in 2000, Screaming Trees left a lasting impact on the alternative rock genre with their distinctive sound and introspective lyrics.
