Скотт Уэйланд (real name Скотт Ричард Кляйн ) is an American rock musician, born in 1967 in the United States. He was the vocalist and frontman of Stone Temple Pilots , one of the most successful rock bands of the 1990s. Weiland is a two-time «Грэмми» Award winner. He was also a member of the supergroup Velvet Revolver , formed by former members of Guns N' Roses . His stage persona, use of a megaphone in concert, and unique singing style made him an iconic figure in alternative rock. Weiland also struggled with drug addiction throughout his career. He died in 2015 while touring with The Wildabouts . His contribution to the development of alternative rock remains significant.
