Scott McKenzie (real name Philip Wallach Blondheim) was an American singer born in 1939 in the United States. Known for his contributions to rock, pop, and folk music, he gained international fame with the 1967 hit song "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)", which became an anthem of the counterculture movement. A close collaborator of John Phillips of The Mamas & the Papas, McKenzie was associated with the 1960s' Summer of Love era. His work remains a symbol of the peace and love ethos of that time.
