Safri Duo is a Danish percussion duo performing electronic music. Their name, Safri Duo is a portmanteau of the members' last names: Uffe Savery and Morten Fries. Formed in 1990, the group initially released six albums before being discovered by DJ and producer Михаэлем Парсбергом . In 2001, their composition Played-A-Live from their album Episode II , topped the European charts and achieved platinum status, selling over 1.5 million copies. Safri Duo has made a significant contribution to the popularization of percussion-based electronica and dance music.
