Rotting Christ is a Greek metal band founded in Athens in 1987. Formed by brothers Necromaihem and Necrosauron, the band is considered one of the most renowned metal bands in Greece. Initially playing grindcore, Rotting Christ soon shifted to black metal, and in later albums, began experimenting with dark metal and ethnic elements. Key members of the band include bassist Andreas Lajos (since 1996) and guitarist Giorgos Bokos (since 2005). Rotting Christ has made significant contributions to the development of extreme metal while remaining true to its unique sound.
