Rod Wave , real name Rodarius Marcell Green , is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter born in 1999. His work combines elements of modern rhythm and blues and hip-hop. Rod Wave rose to popularity in 2019 thanks to the single "Heart on Ice" , which peaked at number 25 on Billboard Hot 100 His debut album, Ghetto Gospel (2019), peaked at number 10 on Billboard 200 , and his second album Pray 4 Love (2020), peaked at number two. His third album, SoulFly was released in 2021. Rod Wave has made significant contributions to the development of emotional rap, combining heartfelt lyrics with a melodic sound.
