Rod McKuen

Rod McKuen (1933–2015) was an American poet, singer-songwriter, and composer from the United States. Known for his work in the pop genre, he became one of the best-selling poets in the U.S. during the late 1960s. McKuen produced a diverse range of recordings, including popular music, spoken-word poetry, film soundtracks, and classical compositions. He earned two Academy Award nominations for his musical contributions. His translations and adaptations of Jacques Brel's songs were instrumental in introducing the Belgian songwriter to English-speaking audiences. With over 100 million records sold and 60 million poetry books published, McKuen left a lasting impact on pop music and literature.
