After leaving Deep Purple in 1975, he formed Rainbow, a band that blended hard rock with neoclassical elements, producing hits such as "Since You Been Gone". Since 1997, he has focused on folk rock with his project Blackmore’s Night, created alongside his wife Candice Night.
