Richard Butler is an English singer and songwriter born in 1956. He rose to prominence as the lead vocalist of the rock band the Psychedelic Furs , which rose to popularity in the early 1980s. During the band's hiatus in the 1990s, he founded the alternative project Love Spit Love . In 2006, Richard Butler launched a solo career, releasing a self-titled album. His work has influenced the development of alternative rock and electronica, remaining relevant to fans of the genre.
